Anderson Funeral Home - NephiShirley Rae Shepherd Aiman, 83, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on November 6, 2025, to reunite with her beloved husband, parents, and grandparents.
Born on January 16, 1942, to Delwin and Alice (Warren) Shepherd in Los Angeles, California, Shirley was raised in the close-knit community of Levan, Utah. She pursued her love for education, studying early childhood development at Snow College and Brigham Young University. This led to a fulfilling career teaching kindergarten and first grade, where she touched many young lives.
Shirley married Dr. William Russell Aiman on March 3, 1967, in the Manti Utah Temple. They began their family in Warren, Michigan, later moving to California. After losing her husband to cancer, Shirley moved back to Levan to raise her young children with the support of her family.
Her dedication to teaching continued in both California and Utah, but she found her true calling working with students with severe and profound disabilities in the Juab and Provo school districts. Shirley's compassionate spirit and commitment left an indelible mark on her students and colleagues.
Shirley is survived by her children: Russell Aiman, Robert Aiman, and Jennifer (Bryan) Bradbury. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Cheyenne Aiman, Shawnee (Brandon) Johnstun, Cherokee Aiman, Dakota Aiman, Ryker Bradbury, and Charlotte Bradbury.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Russell Aiman; her daughter, Rachel; her parents, Delwin and Alice Shepherd; and her parents-in-law, H. Russell and June Aiman.
Shirley will be remembered for her kind and accepting nature toward all people, her dedication to her family, and her lifelong commitment to education and helping others.
Graveside services will be held Saturday November 8th at 11 AM Levan Cemetery, celebration of life to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local school district foundation.
