Shirley Angela Mayes Baggerly, passed away peacefully on October 16,2021, at the age of 85. She was born in Louisville, KY. She graduated from DuPont Manual High School and started working at Henry Vogt Machine Company. After starting a family, she continued her career in retail sales at Sears & Roebuck. She was also employed at Brown Brothers Cadillac and Dillard's. Her career in retail sales and customer service, spanned over 50 years. She was an avid NASCAR fan, stayed active by never wanting to miss Jazzercise class and loved traveling with her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of Northside Christian Church and where she served as a greeter.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, David Baggerly (Barbara) of Chandler, AZ, Kevin Baggerly (Kim) of Jeffersonville, IN and Aleesa Anderson (Craig) of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren Kyle Anderson of Dallas, TX, Emily Grace Anderson of Shreveport,LA, Tim Anderson(Jenny) of Lake Oswego, OR and Brittany Moore of Jeffersonville, IN; great-grandchildren Zoey Moore, Evalynne Paramore, Abby and Benjamin Anderson;her brother Richard Mayes, her sister Leta Eckmann and several nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and co-workers.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Glenn Lee Baggerly, parents Lester and Angela Mayes, her sister Kate Mayes, brother William Mayes, and niece Phyllis Mayes.
A service will be held at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home Saturday, November 6th at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held Friday November 5th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
She will be laid to rest at Kraft Cemetery in New Albany, IN.
Her family would like to thank Shirley's Hospice caregivers Ramona & Charity and Shirley's best friend, Mrs. Polly Grose.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Northside Christian Church, New Albany, IN.
