Shirley Jean (Lumbert) Beaumont, 90, of Atwater, Ohio, passed away on June 27, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 10, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio. Shirley was married to David Beaumont Sr. for 56 years until his death in 2015. They built a life centered on faith, family and love and are together again in Heaven. Shirley worked for Allstate Insurance before becoming a full-time homemaker and child caregiver. Shirley was a member for over fifty years of the United Methodist Church of Kent and participated in Garden Club, Rotary, Clothing Center and Rebecca Circle.
She is survived by her son, David (Kim) Beaumont of Viera, Florida; daughters, Karen (John) Stephenson and Sharon (Bryan) Coia of Atwater, Ohio; grandchildren, Chase (Megan) Beaumont, Kendall Beaumont, Brittany (Brad) Romaine, Caitlin Stephenson (Nick Zaccone), Tyler (Danielle) Coia, and Brandon (Taylor) Coia; great-grandchildren, Emerson Beaumont, Luke Beaumont, Crue Coia, and Bennett Romaine; and sister Charlotte Burazi. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Beaumont Sr., and brother Roy Lumbert.
Shirley passed peacefully with her family by her side, as they sang “Amazing Grace” in her final moments. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Yanelli, Hospice Nurse Tammy, and caregivers, Trina and Chelsea for their wonderful care and support.
Calling hours will be held 9:00AM-11:00AM on Monday, July 7, 2025 at the United Methodist Church of Kent, 1435 E. Main St. Kent, OH 44240. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM at the church following the calling hours with the Rev. Nathan Howe and the Rev. Dr. Bob Machovec officiating. Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Western Reserve or St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
