James Mayo, age 86, of Atwater, went to be with our Lord on April 13, 2025. He was born on August 1, 1938 to the late Virgil and Sophronia Mayo. James was a graduate of Weston High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served four faithful years.

James was happily married to Jeanne for 48 years before her passing in 2016. Together they raised four children.

James worked as a truck driver for over 40 years before his retirement.

James is survived by his children, Harold Hope, Debbie (Keith) Brannen, Marie Franze and Lisa (Bobby) Ledford; grandchildren, Philip (Ryle) Franze, Rachel (Andy) Brannen, Scott Franze, Micheal Franze, Austin Hope and Tori (T.J.) Remen; great-grandchildren, Everett and Cooper Franze and Beau and Max Golias

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; brothers and sisters, Virgil, Arden, Bill and Benjamin Mayo, Anne May and Shirley Lee, and Lillie Kane.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest with his wife at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery (10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273) on June 12, 2025 at 12:45pm with military honors.
