Heaven has gained a true angel. Shirley M Bousman was born on Jan 17, 1947, in Milestone Ky. She attended school in Greenfield, IN, graduated from Portage High school in Portage, IN, and attended Hyles Anderson College in Crown Point, IN. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Shirley walked through life with a gentleness, a strength, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with an unforgettable grace.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 14, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Bob Bousman officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Belvia Spangler; brothers, Willie Spangler and Dave Spangler; and sister, Janice Spangler.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years, Robert (Bob) Bousman; three children and their wives, Robert "Tony" Bousman (Tobitha), Beverly Gott (Brian) and Thomas Bousman (Meghan), all of Alabama; one sister, Judy Nelson (Ed) of Bloomington, IN; nine grandchildren, Kourtney, Rebecca, Jesse, Caleb, Jacob, Haley, Hannah, Brandon, and Emma; and three great-grandchildren.
Shirley was a woman of Baptist faith, strong and independent, yet silly and loving as well. She loved her church, her Pastor, the Lord and her KJV Bible. She loved to be with her family. She was a lover of Crocheting, "It's a Wonderful Life" & Chocolate. You would never find her house without decorations for the holidays, or without her nails perfectly painted.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
