Larry Eugene Bousman, born December 2, 1938, passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa, Larry's life was defined by his unwavering dedication to his family and his passion for the great outdoors.
Larry found joy in the simple pleasures of life: casting a line on a quiet lake, camping, sitting around a campfire, golfing, or setting out on a hunting trip with family and friends. His love for nature and the outdoors extended into every facet of his life, whether he was boating with his grandkids or relaxing with family on his back porch. He was a long-time, proud member of the Farmland Conservation Club, the First Presbyterian Church, and the Holiday Ramblers RV Club.
Larry was a model of loyalty and hard work, dedicating 35 years to Ross Supermarket, where he built lasting relationships with coworkers and customers alike. His sense of duty to his family was unmatched. He made it his mission to ensure their well-being and happiness, always offering his support in times of need. To Larry, family was his greatest treasure, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
A dedicated sports fan, Larry never missed an opportunity to cheer on the Indiana Hoosiers or whatever team his grandchildren were playing on. He was their biggest supporter, always present on the sidelines with a proud smile and a matching sweatshirt.
Larry leaves behind his beloved wife of 66 years, Phyllis (Cain) Bousman, a love story that spanned more than six decades. Together, they raised a family filled with love and laughter. He was the devoted father of Rick (Kathy;deceased) and Neil (Denise) Bousman, and his daughters: Linda (Todd) Gordon and Nancy (Kevin) Thomas, all of whom carry forward his legacy of kindness, strength, and love of family. He was a hands-on grandpa to 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He shared a unique bond with each one.
Larry is survived by his brother Rolly (Cherilyn) Bousman, who will carry the memories of their childhood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Liona Bousman, whom he loved deeply and recently shared he was excited to see again in heaven.
