Mrs. Shirley Ann Thresher Brewer, age 85 of Parsons, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025, at her residence. She yearned to be in Heaven with her Lord and Savior and went peacefully into His loving arms surrounded by her beloved family.

Shirley was born May 7, 1940, in Memphis to the late J.O. and Elma Hardin Thresher. She has an older sister, Virginia Griffin and a brother, Jimmy Thresher, both of Arkansas.

Shirley met the love of her life, Charles Brewer and they were wed on August 29, 1959, and were married for sixty-two years. To this union, they were blessed with four children, Eddie (Tammy), Ann, David (Debbie) and Mark (Leia). She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Shirley leaves a legacy of thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; a son, David and a daughter Tammy.

Shirley loved the Lord and always wanted people to know she was His child. She wanted others to come to know and give their hearts to Christ.

Serving as pallbearers are David Brewer, Jr., Micah Brewer, John P. Brewer, Jeremy Brewer, Randle Jones, Heath Brewer, John Michael Brewer and Joey Estepp. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Stone, Levi Brewer, Isaac Brewer and JJ Estepp.

A funeral service to celebrate Shirley's life will be conducted on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Oakdale-Decatur County with Bro. Bobby Keen and her son, Bro. Mark Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Ararat Cemetery. The Brewer family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the service hour.
