Shirley A. Burg

Shirley Ann Burg, age 84, of Troy (formerly of Sterling Heights), passed away on September 24, 2025. She was born in Detroit on March 18, 1941 to Louis and Aldine Logli. Shirley grew up in Warren and graduated from Center Line High School. Always driven and creative, she initially pursued cosmetology and spent several years working as a hairdresser before finding her passion in interior design. Shirley ultimately built a successful career with her own Decorating Den franchise, bringing beauty and style into the homes of many. Shirley was most in her element when surrounded by loved ones. She adored her family and had a remarkable gift for hosting-her home was always warm, welcoming, and full of laughter. She loved the outdoors, whether it was tending to her garden, or simply enjoying nature's peace. And animals were drawn to her just as people were-her home was a sanctuary not only for her cherished cats and dogs but for just about any creature that happened to follow her home. Shirley had a heart rooted in faith. She loved reading the Bible and found joy in hosting Bible studies, sharing her insights and nurturing the spiritual lives of others. She also enjoyed reading of all kinds-especially shopping magazines-and found happiness in crafting and creating beautiful things with her hands. Shirley's life was a beautiful blend of faith, family, creativity, and compassion. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Shirley will be remembered as the beloved wife of the late Mark. The loving mother of Kimberlee (the late Mark) Gallop, Kolleen (Dale) Wood, and Kristen (Phillip) Duncan. Proud grandmother of Devin (Christine) Gallop, Chalyn Gallop, Alexandra (Jarrod) Solar, Elijah Kuefler, Joshua (Sidney) Wood; and great-grandmother of Grant Gallop, Jameson Solar, Elizabeth Gallop, Charlotte Solar, Greenly Wood, and the late James Gallop. Dear sister of Beverly (Patrick) Thompson and Cynthia (John) Bones. Visitation for Shirley will be held on Monday, October 6 from 4:30 p.m. until time of service, 6:00 p.m., at The Salvation Army Royal Oak Citadel, 3015 N. Main Street, Royal Oak.
