Shirley A. Cessna, 90, of Bedford, died on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on October 7, 1935 in Bedford, a daughter of the late R. Burdette and Mabel Jenny (Ferguson) Wolfe. On September 10, 1954 in Winchester, VA, she married Lloyd C. “Tex” Cessna who preceded her in death on January 19, 2025. She is survived by four children: Sharon Stiffler and husband Steve, of Bedford, Scarlet Baldwin and husband Don, of Boulevard, CA, Gregory Cessna, of Boise, ID, and Carey “Poncho” Cessna widower of Sue, of Tuscon, AZ; six grandchildren: Tim Stiffler and wife Mary, Toby Stiffler, Stacy Cortes and husband Vern, Jamie Boiteau and husband Scott, Rijal St. Michael, and Zephyr St Michael; seven great-grandchildren: Gavin Boiteau and wife Lindsay, Gabe Cortes, Elizabeth Cortes, Nichalus Stiffler, Morgan Stinson, Brett Stinson, and Zara St. Michael; one brother Bill Wolfe and wife Rebecca of Bedford. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Hoover and a brother Robert Wolfe.
Shirley was a member of the Yeager Memorial Lutheran Church in Rainsburg. She enjoyed shopping and decorating. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her entire family.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev. Jenny McCord officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
