Shirley Cochran, also affectionately known as Mom, Mommy, Grammy, and Chug's wife, lived a full life with faith, family, love, and joy! She was forever in love with Chug, her husband of 70 years. Always devoted to the family.

Shirley was born in Parkton, MD, on July 22, 1934, and was a graduate of Seton High School in Baltimore. In June of 1953, she married Charles Cochran. Through the years she was the bookkeeper for Chug's service station. She was also a "Martha" at her home Parish in Baltimore, always making sure the church was clean and linens were pressed.

She practiced her faith with a great dedication, teaching her children and grandchildren the value of life was very important to her. Many people could see she was a beautiful example of God's love for us.

Constantly on duty as wife, mom, and grammy, many hours were spent enjoying and watching over her grandchildren playing in the family pool, riding bikes, playing in the yard, and on the swing set. Shirley loved sitting in the sun on any given day, whether it was in Baltimore, Florida, or Delaware. She and Chug spent many winters in Siesta Key, FL at Chug's sister Julia's condo. They had many loving friends that they shared great times with playing dominos, enjoying the beach, dinners together, and family stories.

There were many a party on their enclosed porch of their home. Shirley and Chug hosted crab feasts, family celebrations, holidays, friends and family. Shirley always made sure there was good food and drinks, and the yard provided many volleyball games. They also loved having poker parties and playing dominos with neighbors and friends. She loved having company and entertaining all that would stop in.

One of Shirley's favorite pastimes was reading. Romance novels and nonfiction Amish stories were among her favorites. She also enjoyed watching all of the birds, squirrels, and other wildlife that were in her big backyard, often times taking seed and nuts out to them.

A loving wife, mother, grammy, neighbor, and friend, she will always be remembered for her unconditional love and listening ear. Additionally, she is remembered for her sparkling eyes and beautiful smile. She will live on in the many hearts she has touched.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Shirley's life at the Evans Life Celebration Home, 8800 Harford Road, Parkville, MD, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 2-6 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 13305 Long Green Pike, Hydes, MD, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. Interment in the church cemetery.
