Shirley A. Covert, 76, passed away September 2, 2025.

Shirley was born and raised in Rego Park, Queens New York before settling to Neshanic Station in 1972. She was employed in the family business J.S. Covert Sons with her husband in Neshanic Station. Shirley was also a homemaker and cared for her sons. Shirley was an avid NY Yankee fan. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to her family baseball and softball games where she was the score keeper for 53 years. She enjoyed crocheting items which included handmade blankets, Christmas trees and scarfs. Shirley was a member of the Hunterdon County Knitting and Crocheting Guild. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She is predeceased by her son Joseph Covert who died on March 31, 2020.

Surviving is her husband of 53 years, George (Bucky) Covert, son Keith Covert and girlfriend Leigh DeCicco, three step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, and one step great great grandson.

Visitation will be 4-7pm Friday at the Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville. Cremation will be private.
