LACONIA ---- Shirley Edith (Marsh) DeLucca, 87, of Laconia, passed away at her home on Monday, November 20, 2023.
Shirley was born on February 5, 1936, in Ashland, the daughter of Elmer and Agnes (Brady) Marsh.
She retired as a manager from Belknap County Nursing Home, and worked the next 15 years for East Coast Welding. She spent every moment she could with her grandchildren – even at 70 years old she was still playing baseball in the backyard and running bases with the kids. Her home was filled with love and laughter – always letting the grandchildren play basketball, bowl, or any other sport inside the house. She even let them have candy kisses at 3 o'clock in the morning. Her most recent great-grandchild Viviana brought her great joy.
She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything, except maybe Bingo. She loved the game and most especially her "Bingo family" where they shared many laughs and the occasional (truthfully more than occasional) grumble when they didn't win. She was the kindest person – living by the creed: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. She was amazingly strong and taught us there is nothing that you cannot get through, you simply put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward.
Shirley is survived by her children, Dean DeLucca of Littleton, Toni Cushman and her husband John of Kingston, MA, Lori Fasshauer and her husband Alan of Laconia, and Dena DeLucca of Sanbornton; seven grandchildren: Jason Fasshauer, Jillian Fasshauer and her partner Alex De La Cruz, Rene Camerato and her husband Mark, Jackie Cushman, Casey Cushman, Katie Fornicari and Jenna DeLucca; five great-grandchildren and her brothers: Norman Marsh of Ashland, Harry Marsh and his wife Cindy of Bristol, and Richard Marsh and his wife Kathy of Newport News, VA, sisters-in-law Lorraine Marsh and Betty Marsh of Ashland, NH and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her beloved husband, SSGT Robert DeLucca, their infant daughter Tina Leigh DeLucca, and brothers, Thomas 'Punky' Marsh, Donald Marsh and Eddie Marsh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 10:00am, at St. Andre Bessette Parish - Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH 03246. The service will be livestreamed at http://www.standrebessette.org/livestream.html
Burial will follow Mass at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield St., Laconia, NH.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations be made in Shirley's name to a charity of their choice.

Shirley will always hold a special place in my heart, we first met in the 80´s as I am friends with her children. We could sit and talk about anything for hours, she didn´t often sugar coat things and she was very loving and understanding of others. I was fortunate to be able to say my farewells to and outstanding woman who will be missed by all.
