Shirley Elizabeth Dike, age 76, of McCook, NE, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Kearney, NE.
Shirley was born on December 16, 1947, to Gilbert and Elizabeth (Price) Robarchek in McCook, Nebraska. She was raised in McCook, alongside her beloved siblings, brother Jack and sister Joann. After completing her education, Shirley attended beauty school and worked as a waitress. On July 6, 1968, she married the love of her life, Bob Dike, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in McCook.
Shirley loved westerns and was known best for her culinary skills. Her home was always filled with the aroma of her elaborate and delicious meals, which she lovingly prepared for her family and friends. Her cooking brought people together, creating cherished memories around the dining table. Shirley was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Shirley is proceeded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” Dike, parents; brother, Jack Robarchek; sister, Joann McIlravy; daughter, Tiffany; and great-grandchild, Kadence.
Those left to celebrate are son, Rob (Tammy) Dike of McCook, NE; brother in law, Larry (Linda) Dike of Sherman, TX; eight grandchildren, Kade, McKenna, Shelby (Tanner), Kristen, Haylee, Reyce, Kasandra, and Christina; eight great-grandchildren, Ella, Ayra, Everly, Jaylynne, Jacob, Jaxston, Raylynn and Winter; numerous extended family and friends and very special friend Beverly Burton.
Memorials are suggested in Shirley’s name to McCook Humane Society, PO Box 13, McCook, NE 69001.
A Memorial Service will held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, beginning at 2:30 PM at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook, with Father Gary Brethour officiating.
Inurnment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, McCook.
