Shirley Eugeania Divel, age 81, of Hancock, MD, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.
Born Sunday, April 19, 1942, in Hancock, MD, she was the daughter of the late Wason and Vada (Barnhart) Cubbage. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Donald Divel; two children, Donald, and Babette Divel; one sister, Juanita Hart; one brother, Wason “Jack” Cubbage.
She is survived by her two daughters, Donnia (Dane) Tritle of Waynesboro, PA, and Pamela Divel of Hancock, MD; three grandchildren, Logan, Connor, and Rylie; one brother, Sam (Lori) Cubbage of North Carolina; one sister, Dottie Mosier of Hancock, MD.
She was a graduate of Hancock High School class of 1959. Shirley worked for London Fog as a seamstress for over twenty years of service then retiring in 2009 from Fleetwood Travel Trailers.
Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren, sunbathing, and working in her yard and gardens.
A celebration of life in Shirley’s name will be held Friday, December 29, 2023, from 6 to 8pm at the Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Doey’s House of Washington County, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
