Shirley Jane Doll, 81, of Fairmont, WV passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the WVU Medicine Fairmont Medical Center in Fairmont. Shirley was born on November 21, 1943, the daughter of the late Arthur A and Hattie S (Woods) Boyce.
Shirley was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School class of 1961 and attended WV Business School. In her younger years she became a seamstress, enjoyed tending to her flowers, working in the garden and canning. Shirley also joined a bowling league and ended up with the same girls, thirty years later. She spent her weekends and vacations at Big Bear Lake. Her favorite vacation spot was Myrtle Beach, SC. She was the primary caregiver for several members of her beloved family. Also, Shirley was a dog lover. She had several throughout her life and took care of a few that crossed her path. Spending time with her family and friends was what Shirley loved the most.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Mark Allen Doll, brother Cecil Boyce, sisters-in-law Janet Boyce and Karen (Richard) Hall, best friend Sue and her husband Brent Colvin, special niece Lauren (John) Bonasso, special grandson Josiah Bonasso, "adopted son" Richard Blosser, nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 52 years David Allen Doll, daughter Tracy Lynn Doll, brother Charles Boyce and niece Kendra L Jordan.
Family and friends can gather at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Pastor Jim Zinn will be officiating, and a burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Marion County Humane Society, spay and neuter program, at 2731 Locust Avenue Fairmont, WV 26554.
