Shirley Forster (Joy) 59, of Woodbridge, VA, saldy passes away on October 14th 2025 after a sudden illness. Shirley was born to Robert and Kathryn Joy on November 18th, 1965. After attending Norwich Technical School in Connecticut, Shirley went on to work in the printing industry most recently as the Lead Printing services specialist for the U.S Government Publishing Office.

Shirley is pre deceased by her loving daughter Victoria Foster. She is survived by her husband Robert D Forster, son Robert Forster and his spouse Shelby Forster, grandson Owen, mother Kathryn Joy, brother Tim Joy, sister Carol Rogers, aunt Mary Sikorski and additional loving extended family.

Shirley loved being with and taking care of her dogs, Bella and Molly. She was a true animal lover and avid reader. Fall was one of her favorite times of year and she enjoyed dabbling in a variety of crafts as well as cooking endlessly in the kitchen. She will always be remembered by family and friends for her kindness, warmth and willingness to help anyone in any way she could find. Her family was the most important thing in the world to her and she cherished them like no other. Her open arms and compassion will be sorely missed and you were truly lucky to have known her.

Shirley will be interned in a private service in Connecticut where she will be laid to rest with her pre deceased daughter and father.

In lieu of flowers (as much as Shirley loved them) we ask donations be made in her name to one of two charities
