Shirley Ann Gregory

Our Mom was the best and One of a Kind. There are no words for how much she will be missed.
She was the most caring, compassionate, beautiful person I've ever known. She never met a stranger and would listen and help anyone as much as she could.
She was my very best friend, and it was an absolute honor to have lived with her the past 8+ years. I'm very blessed and so thankful that God allowed me to bring her to Florida and enjoy the past 4 years here, she has always loved Florida and we've had some fun, crazy wonderful times.
Mom never took her charm off she wore around her neck that I bought her years ago, it said "100% Crazy" and she was proud of it! That was mom, she loved to joke and make people smile and laugh. She always said laughter is the best medicine in life and she meant it!
Mom loved so many things, but I believe her favorites were the beach, playing cards with friends, like "In-Between", and going to the casino (she loved the quarter slots) and not to win, she just loved the noise and talking to everyone.
She touched the lives of so many people and kids. She babysat for years and never really made any money. Dad used to ask her why she did it because she wasn't making anything.... Her answer was simple and sincere, to help the working moms and families. She would have bake days on Friday's and let the kids take the goodies home, and most Friday's she would wash their hair so the mom and dads wouldn't have to do it when they went home. That's how she was. She would do arts and crafts and give them birthday parties; she absolutely loved the kids she took care of.
She married my father when she was 16 and took care of him, waiting on him hand and foot until he passed 4 years ago. She prided herself on taking care of him. The coffee pot was on from morning until bedtime at their house and all were welcome.
She was proud of her yard and flowers, even though the relentless weeds drove her crazy at times, she loved her yard in the summer and spent as much time outside as she could.
Her favorite holiday was Halloween and those of you that knew her already know that LOL :) She dressed up every year and passed out candy and took pictures with all the kids that trick or treated. With the exception of the last couple of years when Dad got sick, she always had a bonfire and weenie roast in the driveway with the haunted music going. She fed anybody who wanted to sit.
She loved to dance, and the Jitter Bug was one of her favorite dances, 50's & 60's music and her favorite group was the Bee Gee's, she loved listening to music whether she was dancing or not.
She was and still is the best there ever was and will be loved, cherished and missed beyond words for the rest of my life.
She leaves behind her daughter, Jamie (Gregory) Whiteheart, Son, James Gregory and daughter in law Trina Gregory, Granddaughter's Tosha Boshoff and Monica Gregory, Great Grandchildren Ayden, Angelina, Wyatt, Ryder and Rylee. Sister Ludy Allen, Brother Lloyd Wright and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Event will be held in Indiana on the weekend of April 15th/16th and a smaller one to follow in Florida. Date/Time and location will be announced on Facebook and through calls once the date and location are confirmed.
