Margaret D. (Boyd) Gregory, 81year-old Vinita resident, passed away late Saturday, August 16, 2025, at her home, with her loving family at her side. She was born on April 23, 1944, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Willie Dale "Bill" Boyd and Edna Dean (Slate) Boyd. Margaret grew up in Vinita and graduated in 1962 from Vinita High School. She worked many years as a LPN in Denver, Tahlequah and Vinita medical facilities. Margaret was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed going elk and deer hunting while living in Colorado with her family. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Vinita.

Family preceding her in death includes her husband Jerry Gregory; her parents; a brother, Doyle Boyd; sister, Vicki Echols, and granddaughter, Ashley Gregory.

The family includes her children, Randy Gregory, Jerry Gregory (Valerie) and Patricia Gregory (Raymond Harrison) all of Vinita, Kevin Gregory (Shawna Mayes) of Strang; brothers Dale Gregory (Gerdine) of Texas, Doug Boyd of Arizona; eleven grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita.

The celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita, Pastor Justin Turner will officiate. The committal service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. "Vinita's only locally family owned and operated funeral home."
