Shirley Morgan Hubbard, 76, of Monticello, KY, formerly of Hyden, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, in Hyden, Kentucky. Born on June 25, 1949, she was the beloved daughter of Caleb and Laura Howard Morgan. For over 40 years, Shirley dedicated herself to her career as a factory worker retiring from Monarch. Shirley enjoyed shopping, as well as going to the beach. She was an avid UK fan and always enjoyed cheering on the Kentucky wildcats. Above all she cherished the time spent with grandchildren.
She is survived by her brother Johnny Morgan of Hyden, KY, and three sisters: Ruby Cornett and her husband Roger of Monticello, KY, Mary Osborne and her husband Owen of Monticello, KY, and Christine Morgan of Hyden, KY. Additionally, Shirley is survived by her grandchildren, Jordan Boyd and Kelsie Leet, her great-grandchildren Aiden Booth, Killian Cochran and Cassidy Sadler, along with a host of cherished nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Hubbard, her daughter Tonya Edwards, and several siblings including four brothers, George, Covie, Edwin "Muck," and Hobert, as well as three sisters, Edna Sue Morgan, Effie "Midge" Csaszar, and Helen Bailey.
A graveside service to honor Shirley's life will be held at Morgan - Begley Cemetery in Hyden, Kentucky on Saturday, October 18, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM with Steven Hacker officiating. Interment will follow the service.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home
