Betty Jean Kirk, 90, of Hyden, KY, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Born on August 26, 1935, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the union of the late Garland and Virginia Glass. Betty lived a life characterized by dedication and warmth.
For many years, Betty contributed her talents to the retail business, working alongside her husband at their family-owned hardware store. This endeavor not only provided for her family but also engaged her in the community, where she formed lasting relationships and friendships.
In addition to her professional life, Betty was passionate about traveling. She embraced the joy of discovering new places and cultures, creating memories.
Betty is survived by her son, Tom Lardner of Louisville, KY, and her daughter, Jerri Reynolds of Louisville, KY. She is also remembered fondly by her friends and caretakers at Hyden Health & Rehab, who provided companionship and support throughout her life. A host of other family members and friends cherish her memory.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her two children, Tammy and Robert Lardner.
There will be a private service held for Betty Jean Kirk.
