Shirley Stout Hudson

Mrs. Shirley Jean (Stout) Hudson of Cash, Arkansas, formerly of Tuckerman, departed this life on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born at home in Tuckerman on February 17, 1948, the daughter of Hubert Chester and Cora (Blazer) Stout.

Mrs. Shirley had several jobs throughout her life, but the one she cherished the most was creating a loving home and raising her children. She had a gentle spirit and a kind heart, often opening her home to many children. Shirley was regarded as a second mother and grandmother by three generations of Tuckerman children. Lovingly known as "Nanny" by her grandchildren and their friends, she was adored by everyone. As a dedicated and involved mother and grandmother, she rarely missed any of their events.

Shirley was an excellent cook who loved listening to music and dancing. She had a warm personality and could strike up a conversation with anyone she met. She was captivated by the beauty of flowers, with her favorite being the bright and lovely sunflower.

Shirley cherished her family above all else. She was profoundly loved by her husband, children, grandchildren, sister, and the many people who considered her a friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Cora (Blazer) Stout.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Marvin C. Hudson of Cash; her children, John Lester Jones, Jr., and wife, Nina of Tuckerman, James Preston Jones and wife, Becky of Tuckerman, Leslie Carole Jones and partner, Douglas Michael Levitt, Barbara Jones Graham and husband, Glenn, of Tuckerman, and Loretta Lynn Mercer of Newport; one sister, Betty Stout Neal of Cookeville, Tennessee; seventeen grandchildren, Austin Mauldin, Stevie Thatcher and husband, Dylan, Kirsten Hankins and boyfriend, Joe Paul Jackson, Jami Treece and husband, Jett, Tiffany Collom and husband, Justin, Alli McCormick and husband, Frank, Zack Graham and partner, Paul Howell, Abbi Limbaugh and husband, Hunter, Michelle Heath and husband, Blake, Shelby Greer and husband, Bruce, Heather Jones Pierce, Mikey Jones and wife, Edith, Gage Nicholas Jones and wife, JaRanda, Leslie Jones, Jon Allen and wife, Morgan, Gredin Jones and fiancé, Allyson, and Levi Jones and girlfriend, Hope; twenty-two great grandchildren; her niece, Lorie Hayes; her biggest baby, her dog, Rosie; and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home, Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Lester Jones, Preston Jones, Mikey Jones, Austin Mauldin, Gredin Jones, and Levi Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Collom, Dylan Thatcher, Jett Treece, Frank McCormick, Zack Graham, Jon Allen, and Larry Helms.
