Shirley Ann Jones, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 12, 2025, at the Tishomingo Community Living Center. Born on October 29, 1942, in Mississippi, Shirley's life was a testament to love, faith, and the simple joys that come from family and friendship.

Those who knew her well remember Shirley not just for her kindness and warmth, but for the delicious grilled cheese sandwiches that she became famous for in her family. It was in these small yet precious moments around the dinner table that her spirit truly shone, fostering laughter and connection among her loved ones. This was evident in the nurturing and loving way she cared for her spouse, mother, and son when they needed her the most. Her kindness and love will never be replaced or forgotten.

Her faith as a devoted Christian shaped much of her life, guiding her in her relationships and interactions. She took great pride in her work, having dedicated 33 years of her life to Genesco Shoe Factory, where she served with diligence and camaraderie.

Shirley's greatest joy came from her family. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Kathy Figueroa, and cherished her role as a grandmother to Adrian Figueroa and his wife Ashley, Ethan Jones and his wife Summer, and Jake Jones. She delighted in the laughter and love shared with her great-grandchildren, Cailina, Malorey, Molley, and Clayton, who brought her immense happiness.

In addition to her family, Shirley held a special place in her heart for her lifelong friend, Charlotte Gonce. Their bond was a source of strength and comfort throughout the years, reflecting the deep connections she cultivated throughout her life.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Clayton Jones, her son Junior Jones, her brother L.R. Lewis, and her parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Lewis. Their memories will forever be cherished alongside her own, as they navigated life’s journey together.

While we will miss Shirley's gentle spirit and infectious smile, we take solace in the memories she created and the love she shared. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. In honor of her life, family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, on June 14, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service celebrating her extraordinary life at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Snowdown Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Adrian Figueroa, Ethan Jones, and Jake Jones.

Shirley Ann Jones left an indelible mark on the lives of those who were lucky enough to know her, reminding us all of the beauty found in simple moments and the power of love.
