Shirley Ann Ledbetter, age 89, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, in
Guymon, Oklahoma.
Born on January 3, 1936, in the Piney Community of Oklahoma near
Stilwell, Oklahoma, to Haskell & Monica Adair.
She lived a life rooted in faith, family, and enduring love. Raised in rural Oklahoma, Shirley began her education by walking several miles each day to attend the one-room schoolhouse in Piney, first through sixth grade. She later rode the school bus to Stilwell to complete her education.
Shirley married Lewis Ledbetter January 28, 1952 and together they built a loving home filled with devotion and care to raise their three children, Gary, Linda and Tim Ledbetter.
She embraced her role as a homemaker wholeheartedly, finding joy in caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming environment. Her days were often spent tending to the needs of those she loved most-her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren-each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Linda and Leonard Ray Scott of
Guymon, Oklahoma; and Tim and April Ledbetter of
Guymon, Oklahoma and Gary's wife Gidget Ledbetter of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Paul and Courtney Ledbetter of Paul's Valley; Joe and Kelcie Ledbetter of Elmer City; John and Katie Ledbetter of Earlsboro; David Scott of Guymon; Brian and Molly Scott of Guymon; Jana and Joe Stepp of Ammons, Idaho; Braxton and Tara Winters of Purcell; Brooke and Gregory Patterson of Guymon; and Brandi Ledbetter of Guymon.
Shirley was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren who brought immense joy into her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lewis Ledbetter; her son Gary Ledbetter; infant grandson Timothy John Ledbetter Jr.; parents Haskell and Monica Adair; an infant brother; younger brother three year old Johnny Adair; and sister Barbara Beaston.
A woman deeply devoted to her Christian faith, Shirley found comfort in reading her Oral Roberts Bible daily. She enjoyed watching Christian television programs that nourished her spirit. Her love for Jesus was evident in every aspect of her life-from the way she spoke to others with kindness to the way she prayed for those around her. She cherished long phone conversations with friends and family members near or far-always eager to share words of encouragement or simply listen with compassion.
Shirley's unwavering faith served as a guiding light not only for herself but also for those who knew her. Her gentle presence will be missed dearly by all whose lives she touched.
Funeral services are pending with Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. May Shirley Ann Ledbetter's memory bring peace to those who mourn her passing and inspiration to all who remember the strength of her faith-filled life.
