Shirley Rae (Neel) Letze, 84, passed peacefully away with her family by her side on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Chariton Specialty Care in Chariton, Iowa. Shirley was born on February 9, 1938 in Perry, Iowa to Raymond and Nina Neel. She went to school in Des Moines, Iowa at the East High School.
Shirley met the love of her life Richard Harold Letze, they were married and to this union they were blessed with six children, Rick(Richard Jr).,Tammy, Ray (Wesley), Jim (Jimmy), Penny and Toni. Shirley was a stay at home mom so she could care for her six children which she loved to do. Her first priority was taking care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. When her husband and son become ill, she rushed to their side and took care of them until their passing. Shirley would do anything and everything for her family.
Shirley was a member of the Nazarene Church in Chariton, Iowa. She was faithful to the lord and his teachings. Her hobby was Bingo and can not forget watching the Hallmark channel and especially those Golden Girls. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Last few years Shirley's health has been failing, so her children kept her home as long as they could. She had her own apartment until just a few weeks ago. Her children took such good care of their mother. They made sure she had everything she wanted or needed. She was never alone they stood by her side. They would make any Momma proud.
