Shirley M. (Glover) MacPhee, age 95 of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2025, at home with her daughter Peg and granddaughter Heather by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Lloyd McPhee for over 60 years.
Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada to the late Grace (Coffin) and Fay Glover on August 22, 1929. Shirley was proud to become a U.S. citizen.
Shirley was a strong woman of faith and was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others. She spent most of her life attending Fort Square United Presbyterian Church in Quincy, where she was a Sunday School Teacher. Shirley was also a registered nurse at Milton Hospital and South Shore Hospital for over 40 years. She always had a helping hand to give anyone in need, even taking people in that needed a place to stay. Shirley loved her shopping trips to the Plaza. But what Lloyd and Shirley looked forward to the most every year was their two-week family camping vacation in the Nimrod to either Maine or PEI. She will be forever grateful to Lloyd's first cousin Florence MacLeod for bringing them together. Lloyd and Shirley were happily married and lived in Braintree for over 50 years.
Survived by her children Margaret of Taunton, Paul of Hilton Head, SC, Ron of Franklin and David and his wife Priscilla of Onset, her stepsisters, Rena, Judy and Georgianne, her sister in-law Judy and her grandchildren Heather, Katie and her husband Khalid, Tanner and his wife Kendra, and Kyle, along with beloved nieces and nephews on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Shirley was also the sister of the late Carmen, Jean, Helen, and Howard and stepsister to the late Joyce and Diane and mother-in-law to the late Cathy and grandmother to the late Ian.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton from 4:00-7:00pm with a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 6:30pm. A burial will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 12:45pm at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave. Bourne, Ma. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
