President Mangum and Sister Mangum were my Missionary mom and dad. I served in the Tucson mission from 1990 to 1992 and am so very sad at the passing of them both. They treated us as their sons and daughters and spoke to me with the kindness of a father. I never made it to a reunion, but I know I will see them again..."God be with us till we meet again". You should know that many people loved Shirley Mangum and President. As a new convert to the Church, I was so impressed by them. They really felt like a Father and Mother to me in the ATM. I had so much love and respect for them. Sad they're gone but we'll be able see each other again some day to get a Big Hug! For now, I keep a picture of the three of us of my first day in the mission home in a frame for all to see who come into my home. Good times! Thankful and blessed to have known them! 2 Nephi 31:20 The photo is of the last ATM Reunion I got to attend in 2012.

I know everyone thinks their mission President and wife are the best but the Mangum´s really were. they both always made you feel like you were their favorite missionary. Sister Mangum was such an inspiration. I´m sure she is having a grand reunion with her love but she will be missed here.

I remember her hug as I arrived at the Mission, her welcome and her smile made me feel at home. President and Sister Mangum were such an example in my life and they thought us that the small choices matter as they become big deals later on. Thank you for your love, example and Service, until we meet again .

I will never forget her kind words and sweet smile. Sister Mangum was love and kindness personified. My last meal, in the Arizona Tucson Mission, as we sat around the table and reminisced, I can still see her sweet smile, listening to our stories and laughing along with us.

Our sincere condolences to the family of Sister Mangum. She made being a missionary so much easier with her love and concern for each of us. Sister and President Mangum will always have a special place in my heart.
