Shirley Ann Thornton Meadows, 85, of Frankfort, passed away peacefully on Sunday. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and run until the time of service. Brother David Smith will officiate with burial to follow at Frankfort Cemetery.

Shirley was born January 25,1941 in Monterey, to the late Selvin Lee Thornton and Dossie B. Taylor. She grew up alongside her many sisters and brothers. Shirley was deeply devoted in her faith as a member of the North Frankfort Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil Meadows; her daughter, Letha Hedges; and four sisters: Helen, Elizabeth, Carolyn, and Sue.

She is survived by her companion and best friend, Paul Hellard; two daughters: Cecilia (Brian) Watts, Lawrenceburg, and Tammy (Kevin) Quinton, Harrodsburg; two sons: Carl (Thelma) Peyton and Doug (Jana) Peyton; her brother, Charles Thornton; her sister, Nan Alimonos; ten grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Caine Chapman, James Rose, Kevin Quinton, Brian Watts, Dylan Peyton, and Dustin Peyton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Shirley's honor to Bluegrass Care Navigators. Arrangements are under the direction of LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.ljtfuneralhome.com.
