Shirley Meeks Obituary
94 year old, Shirley Ann Meeks, of San Pierre, passed away on December 18, 2025, at home with her loving family around her.
On March 28, 1931, Shirley was born to Everett and Ida Jane (Timmerman) Tribbett, in Gary, Indiana. She married the love of her life, Lester Meeks, on June 10, 1949, in Crown Point, Indiana, who preceded her. Shirley worked for the Kankakee Valley School Corporation. She enjoyed shopping, bunco, crochet, cooking, canning, and she really loved to go travelling with her family.
Shirley is survived by her children: Deborah (Mort III) Harrington, Charles Meeks, Thomas (Sheila) Meeks, Richard (Sherilyn) Meeks, Michael Meeks, Edward (Barb) Meeks, 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Lester, brothers: Everett Tribbett, Harold Chester, Charles Chester, and sisters: Doris Fraley, and Barbara Krantz.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, IN 46392. Funeral Services for Shirley will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, with Pastor Dave Patterson officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at the Graceland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sorrowful Mother Food Pantry.
