Shirley A. Morris, age 89, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. She was born April 11, 1936, in Pleasant Township, Fairfield County, to Clarence and Amanda (Stout) Ankrom. She was a graduate of Rushville High School, class of 1954. She was known within her family for her cleanliness. She was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals. Her children have fond memories of leaving church quickly to get home and watch the Bengals. Shirley was a past, active member at Faith Memorial Church. She loved children, animals, and her little dog Bella. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all she met.
She is survived by her children, Dennis (Lisa) Morris, of Amanda, Brenda Morris, of Westerville, and Dayna (Craig) Hartman, of Worthington; grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica), Cassie (Pat), Stephanie (Jake), Taun (George), Ashley (Zoe), and Lillian; nine great grandchildren; sister, Hazel Engle, of Lancaster; brother, William Ankrom, of Rushville; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Morris; son in law, David Chakeres; sisters, Mary, Helen, Florence, Evelyn, Ina, and Patty.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 1pm until 4pm at Venue 22, 9563 US Rt 22, Stoutsville, Ohio 43154.
Friends may make memorial contributions to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, OH 43130 or to Meals on Wheels, 1515 Cedar Hill Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130
