Shirley Stevenson O'Connor passed peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in Longwood, Florida at the age of 95, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and cherished friend. Shirley was empowered by her Catholic faith and inspired others to always put their trust in God. She was born in Miami, Florida and encouraged her children to pursue their dreams while always being there to offer wisdom and encouragement. She had a generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who has the privilege of knowing her. Shirley's memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends. Our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Griswold Care Pairing in Winter Park who cared for Shirley with in-home care services for almost 8 years with dignity, respect and kindness at all times. Shirley was the cherished daughter of the late William McKinley Stevenson and Blanche Louise Adee. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 33 years, Philip Crane O'Connor and her sisters Maxine Regester, Emma Benton, and brother William Stevenson. Shirley is survived by her sons; Philip C. O'Connor (Linda O'Connor) of Jacksonville, Steven M. O'Connor of Wasilla, Kevin P. O'Connor (Michele O'Connor) of Miami and Sean P. O'Connor (Debbie O'Connor) of Homestead, with daughters Laura O Moffett (William Moffett) of Longwood, and Kathy A O'Connor of Palm Coast, and grandchildren: Philip Grant O'Connor, Steven M. O'Connor II, Sabrina Tuckfield, Brian P. Moffett (Patricia A. Moffett), Brandon W. Moffett, Philip O'Connor III, John M. Koch, Rebecca Koch, Eric Castro, Joseph Castro, Michael O'Connor, Samantha O'Connor, Kathryn O'Connor, and Sean O'Connor II, Leon O'Connor, Katelynn O'Connor, Brianna O'Connor, Alexander Tuckfield, Sebastian Tuckfield, Selena Tactacan, William Walker, and great grandchildren Teana O'Connor, Andrea O'Connor, Isabella O'Connor, Philip O'Connor IV, Tatum O'Connor, Grace A. Moffett and Leanna M. Townsend, Hazel Castro, Elijah Tactacan and many other loving family members and friends. Shirley also raised her nephew, Robert Cornell as her own child for years and there is a very unique bond. Shirley graduated from Rosarian Academy and attended the University of Miami in Home Economics. Shirley worked for Southern Bell as a switchboard operator and dedicated her life to her husband and raising her children. She dedicated her life to her family showing humility and love of God in all creation. She will be deeply missed by those she loved and who loved her in return. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm 10/04/25 at St Louis Catholic Church at 7270 SW 120th St, Pinecrest, FL 33156.
