Austin Peacock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory - R. Lee Williams Chapel on Feb. 16, 2026.
Austin Ray Peacock

October 19, 1993–February 8, 2026

Austin Ray Peacock entered into the presence of the Lord on February 8, 2026, at the age of 32, in Winter Haven, FL.

Austin was born on October 19, 1993, to Gary and Dawn Peacock. He was a graduate of Lake Region High School in Eagle Lake, FL. Following graduation, Austin worked at Legoland before moving on to work at Lamb's Nursery in Winter Garden, FL. He discovered that he enjoyed working outside, and he quickly advanced to the position of Grower. He liked the responsibilities and appreciated the confidence his bosses showed in him. After several years working at the nursery, Austin decided to find a job closer to home. With the help of his friend Gus, he found his new job as an Order Fulfiller at the Walmart Distribution Center in Winter Haven, where he started in January.

Austin came to faith in Christ in 2001, at the age of eight, at First Baptist Church of Winter Haven. He was very active in the ministries of the church. His favorite years were in the Young Adult group, where he formed very close friendships with Jonathan and Ashlyn Morton, and others that lasted until his passing. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was in his element when he had a funny story to tell. Austin was known for wearing eye-catching clothes with pop culture references, matching his socks and shoes to his clothes and hat. He was a HUGE Florida Gators fan and was always hopeful that the next season would be a winning one. He loved the Pokémon franchise since his childhood and was very excited when the Pokémon Go game was released. He quickly got involved with a local group of Pokémon Go players and, in that group, found several very good friends who shared his love of the game. Austin was generous to those he loved, family and friends, and liked to surprise them with gifts, often insisting they open them early because he was too excited to wait to see their reaction.

Austin is survived by his parents Gary and Dawn Peacock, Winter Haven, FL; Brothers: Chris (Fatima), Spring Hill, FL, Mike (Samantha), Springville, AL, and Jeff (Emily), Titusville, FL; Nieces and nephews: Susie, Hannah, Patrick, Iziak, Jeremy, Elliott, and Thomas; Uncles and Aunts: Lynn Glover (Steve), Montverde, FL, Cyndi Peacock, San Angelo, TX, Tim Archer (Mila), Chattanooga, TN, and Robert Archer (Cody), Kissimmee, FL; Eleven first cousins, fourteen second cousins, and five third cousins; Great uncle and aunt: Jean Jean and Ginette Simard; Cousins: Sylvie Pellet (Bruno), and Annett Masson (Sabastien), Laura Pellet, and Margaux Masson, all residing in France; and much extended family in north Georgia.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Ray and Frances Archer, and Clawson and Marguerite

Peacock; Sister-in-law, Jennifer Maurer Peacock; and Cousin, Andy Glover.

Austin was one of a kind and will be missed by his family and friends. He now rests in the arms of the Savior, free from pain and sorrow, rejoicing in the presence of the Almighty.

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39
