Clawson Peacock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory - R. Lee Williams Chapel on Feb. 7, 2026.
Clawson Peacock passed away in his home in Winter Garden, FL, on February 4, 2026, at the age of 89. Clawson was born in Opp, Alabama, on January 17, 1937, to Lera and Albert Peacock.

Clawson was married to his wife of 65 years, Marguerite Peacock, on January 18, 1958, in Chaumont, France, where they met while he was in the Military. He didn't speak French when they met, but he employed the help of a friend to teach him so he could win her heart. He was in the United States Air Force for 22 years and retired from MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, in1975. He went on to work in the HVAC field and retired from there, also.

He is survived by his son Gary Peacock (Dawn), Winter Haven, FL; daughter-in-Law, Cyndi Peacock; San Angelo, TX; 7 grandsons: Matthew (Nicole), Winter Park, FL, Chris (Fatima), Spring Hill, FL, Mike (Samantha), Springville, AL, Jeff (Emily), Titusville, FL, Colin, San Angelo, TX, Logan (Katelin), Tuscola, TX, Austin, Winter Haven, FL; 9 great-grandchildren: Susie, Hannah, Patrick, Iziak, Jeremy, Elliott, Thomas, Kodi, and Kase; siblings, Doris, Eddie Gene, Janice, and Ricky; extended family: Harry, Mable, Martha, Gloria, and Brandon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jean and Ginette Simard; nieces: Sylvie Pellet (Bruno), and Annett Masson (Sabastien); great nieces: Laura Pellet, and Margaux Masson, all residing in France.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite, parents: Lera and Albert Peacock, and stepfather: Jerome "Buster" Barley, siblings: Dorothy, Dawson, Don, Joyce, James, Max, Jeanette, Edward, and Steve; uncle Lamar, and Aunt Frances, daughter-in-law Lisa Danskine, and granddaughter-in-law, Jennifer Maurer Peacock.

He was a Freemason for more than fifty years and was also a Shriner. His favorite hobby was his garden, and he loved to share the "fruits and vegetables" of his labor.
