Shirley Sosnoski, 72, of Ellwood City, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at UPMC Passavant McCandless.
Born in Ellwood City on December 31, 1952, Shirley was the daughter of the late Jay and Faye Maine Newton. A 1971 graduate of Lincoln High School, Shirley retired from WalMart where she worked as an optician for many years. She was a devout Christian and whenever her health prohibited her from attending services in person, she faithfully watched online. Shirley was a former Avon Lady, and she was very creative. She enjoyed drawing and making jewelry and wreaths.
Shirley is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and James Street of Wampum, her son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Heather Sosnoski of Center Township, four grandchildren, Jolenna Street, Allan Street, Talan Sosnoski and Natalie Sosnoski, three sisters, Violet Mae, Norma and Dawn and three brothers, David, Reidy and Robert.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sibling, Norman.
Friends will be received on Monday, March 10th at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport from 4:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 PM with Pastor Nathaniel Wilson of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church, celebrant.
Interment will take place in Wurtemburg Cemetery.
