Shirley Stackhouse, age 87, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away on November 16, 2024. Shirley was born in Beckley, West Virginia to the late Gory and Ethel Coleman on July 1, 1937.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Shirley loved Jesus and animals; she attended Bible Study and enjoyed photography and Sudoku. A graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Shirley worked with her husband, Dennis, selling insurance.
In addition to her father, Gory Coleman, and her mother, Ethel Coleman, Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers, David Dean Coleman and Deward Coleman; her sister, Virginia Schultz; and her grandson, Christopher Stackhouse.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Dennis Stackhouse; and her children, Michael Stackhouse (Teresa), Rebecca Reed (Ted), and Susan Neltner (Larry). Shirley is also survived by her grandchildren, Christina Sams (Todd), Heather Bumgarner (Greg), Daniel Reed (Cathy), David Reed (Madeline), Caitlin Elsea (Zakk), Harrison Reed, Michelle Brewster (Kiel), Virginia Stackhouse, Jeanette Thayer, Tim Jacob, Jena Norrod (Nik) and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Madison, Tye, Macie, Greyson, Nya, Silas, Tison, Samantha, Jacob, Solomon, Noah, Felicity, Emelia, Henry, Michael, Jolene, Maire, John Carl, Ellie, Michaela, and Olivia.
Visitation for Shirley will be held on Saturday, November 23 from 10 am until 12 noon at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center (353 East Main Street, Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075). The funeral service will be held at 12 o’clocknoon at the same location with burial to follow.
