She was born November 24, 1949 in Homerville to the late Leroy Griffin and Mary Lou Murray Griffin. Shirley graduated from South Georgia State College in Douglas as a LPN, and she was a homemaker most of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Beverly; and four siblings, Mary Lois Troupe, Harvey Lee Griffin, Willie Griffin and Herman Griffin.
Survivors include four children, Carroll Bennett (Tonya) of Manor, Shirley "Rosie" Beverly (Edwin) of Pearson, Shane Tanzer (Lynne) of Atlanta, and Stephanie Stone (Jack) of Broxton; grandchildren, Brandilyn Molina, Amber Garnto, Jessica Vining, Theodore Tanzer, Sal Tanzer, Jace Stone and Ariella Stone; great grandchildren, Lexi, Bentley, Grayson, Paisley, Madison, Cheyenne, Charlie, Aiden, Tommy, Alyssa, Neveah, Destiny and Chasity; one sister, Patsy Spivey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M.Wednesday (May 22, 2024) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
