Shirley Wenefred Davis Taylor, 87, of Bladenboro passed away at Bladen East Health and Rehab Center on Saturday, June 3, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Davis and Annie Belle Allen Davis; husband, Wallace Taylor; son, James Taylor; two daughters: Sue Ellen Taylor and Sally Beth Taylor; sister, Magdalene Musselwhite; two brothers: Herbert Davis and Allen Davis.
Shirley leaves behind her daughter, Caralee Stevens and husband Dean of Bladenboro; son, Alex Taylor and wife Reba of Bladenboro; two brothers: Clingman Davis and wife Paula, Ira Davis, both of Bladenboro; sister, Annie Laurie Taylor of Florida; grandchildren: Megan Kwasnik (Luke), Kaylee Allen (Clay), Eric Taylor (Jessica-Lynn), Jonathan Taylor (Margaret); step grandchildren: Jacob Stevens (Dana), Andrew Stevens, Zachary Stevens; great-grandchildren: Grayson, Stella and Lily Kwasnik, soon to be great-granddaughter, Lucy Mae Allen, Dillon and Henry Taylor, and Cire Taylor; step great-grandchildren: Blake, Ethan, T.J. Xavier and Eli Stevens, Malachi and Genesis Stevens, Zander and Mason Stevens.
Shirley cherished the time spent with her family. She adored everyone, especially her grandchildren. You could often times find her teaching the grandchildren how to cook, sew, and crochet. Being with her family was her biggest enjoyment. Shirley loved the Lord and singing hymns. When not tending to her flowers, she would draw and color in her spare time. Her hard work and dedication will be remembered forever.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday, June 6th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, June 7th in the Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bladenboro. Dr. Mack Roberts and Reverend Charles Hester will officiate the service.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Caralee and Dean Stevens 197 Taylor Sawmill Rd Bladenboro, NC 28320.
