Shirley Jean Walker, age 82, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
Born on September 7, 1943, in Macon County, Tennessee, Shirley lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and quiet strength. She spent much of her adult life working in factories, where she was known for her strong work ethic and funny nature. In later years, she found joy in serving meals and smiles as a beloved member of the cafeteria staff in the Sumner County Schools—years she considered among the most rewarding of her working life.
Shirley had a passion for quilting, working in her yard, attending church, being a loyal friend, and helping those around her. Her hands were rarely still, always busy with something meaningful—whether stitching a quilt, planting flowers, trying to support a friend, or helping someone in need.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Darlene McClellan; her sisters, Frances Jones and Mildred Hill; and her brothers, Harold Keen, James Keen, and Benny Keen.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher (Donielle) Walker and Jason (Stephanie) Walker; her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Williams, Kaleigh Guin, David Guin Jr., Clayton Walker, Grayson Walker, and Braelyn Walker; and her great-grandchild, Seven Whitman. She also leaves behind two dear siblings, Gerald (Terri) Keen and Helen (Kent) Gimmy, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Shirley will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
