Shirley Faye Turner Williams, 81, of Rockingham, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 29, 2024.
Mrs. Williams was born June 29, 1943 in Robeson County, a daughter of the late Willie Edward and Lucille Williams Turner. She was a graduate of Rohanen High School, Class of 1961 and received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Richmond Community College. She had retired from Sara Lee Hosiery after 33 years of service and was also a retired licensed minister. Shirley was longtime active member of the Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy, where she served on the prayer shawl ministry, kitchen committee, a small prayer group leader, Bible college leader, Sunday School teacher and an active volunteer at youth camp. She enjoyed bowling and crocheting.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, William Thomas “Tommy” Williams; children, Terry Lynne Henry (Steve), Buddy Williams (Rhonda) and J.D. Williams (Stacy); grandchildren, Christy Brock (Shawn), Scott Allen (Megan), Jordan Williams and Seth Williams; great grandchildren, Alexus Perakis and Joseph Perakis; brother, Bobby Turner and sister, Geraldine Huffman.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, August 2, 2024 at the Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy, 139 Flowers St, Rockingham, NC with Pastor Steve Gilmer and Jason Gainey officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the church and at other times at the home.
