Shirley Tezeno Williams, 83, of Lake Charles, passed away peacefully on Monday April 1, 2024 in the comfort of her home with her family at her side.
Shirley was a native of Washington, Louisiana and a longtime resident of the Lake Charles area. She cared for many of the youngest and oldest members of the community, instilling her kind, loving care as she provided daycare and elder services for many years. Shirley will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends. She was an active member and usher at Christ Bethel Fellowship Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Leola Tezeno; son, Larry Charles; husband, Kaiser Williams: brother, John Tezeno, Jr.; sister, Beverly Nevills. She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Kevin Charles and wife DeWanda, Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Lynette Charles, Lake Charles; sisters, Betty Williams; Lola Linzy; Virgie T. Mitchell and husband Joshua, Reolia Young and Barbara Ned and husband Charles; brother-in-law, David Nevills; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family of the heart.
A gathering of Family and Friends will begin at 9:00 AM on Monday April 22, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, concluding with a celebration of her life to begin at 11:00 AM. Apostle Randy Mingo will officiate. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Charles Ned, Jr, Lance M. Ned, Donald R. DeJean, Joshua Mitchell, Jr., Darrel Wayne Ford, Jr and Michael Boyer. Honorary pallbearers Charles Ned, Sr; Kevin Charles, Jonathan Charles, Daryll Dillard, Sr.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of Heart of Hospice for their loving and compassionate support during our beloved Shirley's final days.
