Shirley Ann (Abel) Wraley, 87, of Shoals, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Daviess Community Hospital, Washington.

Born November 19, 1937, in Shoals, she was the daughter of Ernest Robert and Direthia Ellen (Wininger) Abel.

Shirley attended Shoals High School and was a homemaker.

She married Charles Nelson Wraley on September 3, 1955, at the Loogootee United Methodist Church, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2020.

Shirley was a member of the Shoals Christian Church and a member of the Rusk Homemakers Club.

She loved spending time with her family, especially cooking big family meals for their gatherings.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Robert Nelson Wraley of Shoals, Renita Ann Divine of Evansville, Roger Lee Wraley (Sandy) of Shoals and Ryan Darrell Wraley of Mooresville; seven grandchildren, Christopher Divine, Travis Divine, Brandon Divine, Natasha Rowlett, Jasmine Sheetz, Rachel Coy and Regina Wraley; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; seven step great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold Abel and Darrell Abel; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Nelson; great-grandson, Charles Coy; and three brothers, Dale Abel, Roy Abel, and Donald Abel.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care with Pastor Matt Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour on Wednesday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Divine, Tyler Divine, Chris Divine, Brandon Divine, Darin Grisby, and Travis Divine.
