Shirley Marie (Hoover) Yoder, of Goshen, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at the age of 93 surrounded by family.

Born to Paul and Vera (Hill) Hoover on January 13, 1932, in Goshen, she attended Jefferson Township School in Goshen.

She married Bernard D. Yoder, January 1, 1949. He passed away April 20, 1999.

Surviving is one sister Betty (James) Cripe, Marcellus, Michigan; a daughter, Rhonda (Conrad) Bailey, Bristol; three grandsons, Brian Bailey, Champaign, Illinois, Bruce Bailey, Bristol and Ken McFall, Carbondale, Colorado; four great grandchildren; and a great-great grandson, Kilik Wambaugh.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen McFall, Oct.5, 2004 and a granddaughter, Kelly Hollingsworth, March 29, 2017.

Shirley worked at Goshen Rubber from 1960-1969 and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Bristol where she was involved in several ministries with the closest to her heart being Clothed in Compassion, a free clothing Ministry she was a part of for 12 years.

She was also a volunteer in the Adopt-A-Patient program for mental health and a volunteer in the Activity Department at Elkhart Rehabilitation Center for 12 years.

Shirley loved to crochet, play piano, work in the yard and tend to her flowers, spend time with family and friends, read and take pictures.

According to her wishes her body was donated to the I.U. School of Medicine, Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology Education Program.

A life celebration will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Bristol.
