Shirley A. Zirkle, age 90, of Port Vue, formerly of McKeesport, died June 18, 2025. Born January 29, 1935, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ann (Zaucha) Winters and wife of the late John C. Zirkle for 54 years.
Shirley will be remembered for her remarkable career as an Executive Administrative Assistant at Alcoa, where her dedication and professionalism left a lasting impression on her colleagues. She also was a member of Toastmasters International and Miss McKeesport in the early 1950's. Shirley was a cherished member of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish and the former St. Joseph Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the pastoral council, lector, and past President of the Christian Mothers. Her contributions to the church and community reflected her deep faith and commitment to service. After the passing of her husband, Shirley found joy and fulfillment in traveling and exploring the beauty of Europe and the Caribbean. These adventures enriched her life and allowed her to embrace new experiences with an open heart.
She is survived by children, Thomas Zirkle, John Zirkle, Jr., and Sheryl (the late Ocie) Yarborough, who cared for her; grandchildren, Justin (Alexis Cipcic) Yarborough and A.J. Yarborough; siblings, Barbara (Jim) Rippon, Richard "Buck" (Mary) Winters, and Judy Pavlovic. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Saints Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Eugene Church at 10 a.m. The burial will follow at St. Mary Polish Cemetery.
