Shonda A. Phillips, 46, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on April 16, 2025 at Hospice of South Georgia following a lengthy illness. She was born on March 9, 1979 to the late, James Charles Phillips and Laverne White in St. Petersburg, Fl. Shonda was educated in the public school system of Wayne County. In her free time, she enjoyed watching Gordon Ramsey shows on television, shopping, eating and spending time with her family. She was a former employee of Jones Kitchen before her health began to decline.
Shonda was preceded in death by both parents, James Phillips and Laverne White; Essie Mae McGill who took her in as a daughter after the death of her birth mother; her grandmothers, Lillie Mae McGill and Mary Frances.
Those left to cherish her memory: her loving children, Frank Williams, Anthony McGill (Crystal), Nicholus Phillips, I'zaveion Mosley and I'Keia Phillips, all of Jesup, Ga.; her grandchildren, Aa'Laysha, Aa'Niyah and Kace "Tripp" Williams, Ka'Breion and Aa'Vaye Brewington, Anala McGill, Anthony McGill, Jr., Andre McGill, Atlas McGill, and Khalessi Mosley; her sister, Brenda Caine (Odell), Savannah, Ga.; her brothers, Orlando White, Atlanta, Ga. and Bobby White, Savannah, Ga.; like sisters, Michelle Boykins, Christy "Big Cheese" Lashane, Allison "Nikki" Norman, Lavatrice "Vecee" Wilson; like a brother, Clarence Boykins; her uncle, Elmer "Peanut" McGill, Jesup, Ga.; her niece, Jazzman Walker; her nephews, Zack and Carlton; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her immensely.
There will not be a wake on Tuesday.
A viewing will be held from 11 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Services will be held at 1:00 pm following the viewing at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545.
Services will be live streamed thru our website: royalfuneralhomeinc.com
There will be a private Disposition following services.
