Shontelea Thompson Nimmons, 49, of Beacon, New York, passed away peacefully at home on September 24, 2025.

Born on October 24, 1975, in Beacon, she was the beloved daughter of the late BettyAnn Pinnock and Thomas Thompson, Jr. Shontelea was raised in Beacon and was proud to call it home throughout her life. She married the love of her life, the late Daryll Nimmons, and together they built a life rooted in love, family, and faith.

A graduate of Beacon High School, Shontelea went on to earn her Master's Degree in the Science of Psychology from the University of Phoenix. She was employed with Greystone Programs, where she served as a Direct Support Staff. Her passion for helping others was evident in everything she did, and she touched many lives through her work, her compassion, and her kindness.

Shontelea loved spending time with her family and friends, who were the center of her world. She found joy in cooking big meals, always preparing food with love and sharing it generously with those around her.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her stepfather, Kenneth Pinnock ( Beacon, NY), special Aunts Priscilla Thompson, and Leatrice Carter Huggins (Beacon, NY), Donna Walker ( Houston, Texas), and a special Uncle James Lloyd Sr. ( Stone Mountain, GA); her sons, whom she loved and adored, Robert McCollum (Newburgh, NY), Rayvon McCollum ( Poughkeepsie, NY), and Thomas McCollum ( Beacon, NY); her three beautiful grandchildren, Kaden McCollum,Kalai McCollum, and Noah McCollum;her sister, Shakera Thompson ( Poughkeepsie, NY); her niece, Jannai Chase( Poughkeepsie, NY); several godchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends; and her fiancé, George Gonzalez, with whom she shared new love and treasured memories.

Shontelea is also pre deceased by her God Mother Arlene ( Pinky)McNair Russell; Grandparents Dolores Lloyd Matthews, Thomas Thompson Sr. and Sybilla Carter Thompson; and her dear cousin, Yvonne Herring and uncle William Matthews

Shontelea will be remembered for her loving spirit, her generosity, and the warmth she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, October 3 from 5 to 6 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
