Joseph Sidney Bean, 90, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Care Center of Aberdeen. Born on September 5, 1935 in Monroe County, he was a son to O.B. and Jessie Davis Bean. He married the former Barbara Smith who preceded in death on August 24, 2025. He was a long-time employee at Kerr-McGee and served many years in law enforcement, with Aberdeen Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff’s Department in a reserve/auxiliary capacity. Sidney enjoyed ham radios and he was a member of First Christian Church in Aberdeen.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his son, Richard Bean (Laken), Hamilton; daughter, Belinda Stahl (Bo), Hamilton; grandchildren, Lucas Stahl (Lindsey) and Tony Stahl; and great grandchildren, Sidney, Amelia, Rosie, Aiden, and Madison Stahl.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Barbara Bean; and several brothers.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Aberdeen or to your charity of choice.
