Sidney Neil Cauthen, 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Tyler, Texas on December 1, 2025. He was born on November 20, 1939, in Dallas, Texas to Joseph and Maureen Cauthen.

Sid was a US Army veteran. HIs professional career began with IBM, where he worked with dedication until retiring in 1987. Never one to sit still, he went on to establish Office Products of East Texas, a business he proudly owned and operated until his second retirement in 2014. Sid was known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and the steady reliability that made him both a respected businessman and a cherished friend.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, LaVonne Cauthen of Tyler, TX; son Jason Cauthen of Tyler, TX; stepdaughters, Jacqui Sargent (Edil Bacab) and Karen Bishop; beloved grandchildren-who lovingly knew him as "Poppa Sid"-Alexandra Moreno-Sargent, Austin Bishop, Journey Cauthen, Lillie Knight, Luke Cauthen, and Beau Cauthen. He is also survived by nephews Bob Williamson (Cheryl) , Joe Williamson (Rae), Frank Cauthen and niece Cathy Lester.

Sid was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Maureen Cauthen; siblings, Mike Cauthen and Beverly Williamson; daughter, Carol Cauthen and a beloved sister-in-law Glenda DeWitt.

Sid will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and the deep love he held for his family. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
