Sidney Paul Woolen was born on May 1, 1957, to the parentage of the late Freddie Paul Woolen and Algie Lee (Crowley) Woolen in Dallas, Texas.
Sidney accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and united with the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975. He went on to attend El Centro College where he earned an Associate Degree in Business. Sidney enjoyed a career at Sears Automotive in auto parts sales, and later at Pitney Bowes Company as a mail clerk supervisor. In 2022, he retired from William Lea Law Firm, where he was a mail distribution supervisor.
He united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Doris Allison, on December 14, 1990. In 1995, the couple made their home in Garland, Texas.
Among many hobbies, Sidney loved fishing, shooting pool, and caring for his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, Sidney entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie Paul Woolen and Algie Lee Woolen. Those left to cherish precious and lasting memories include his wife, Doris Woolen of Garland, Texas; siblings: Darrell Woolen (Leisa) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Yolanda Gail Woolen of Grand Prairie, Texas, Michael Todd Woolen of Richardson, Texas, and Gary Don Woolen of Dallas, Texas; his cousin; Joyce Wiggins of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and co-workers.
