Sigfried Higgins III, aged 80, of East Brunswick, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
Sigfried was born on Saturday, May 20, 1944, in Montclair, New Jersey, to the late Sigfried and Joan Higgins. Raised in Verona, New Jersey, he graduated from Oratory Prep High School before beginning his career as a bricklayer. In 1967 at the age of 23, he would be drafted into the United States Marine Corps where he would serve in Vietnam before being honorably discharged. Soon after, he would marry the love of his life, Arlene, and together they would start a family.
A devoted father and loving grandfather, Sigfried enjoyed playing golf and watching NASCAR races. He spent many joyful moments with his wife in the Poconos, where they were active members of their church and community. Most importantly, he cherished the time spent with his family.
Sigfried is predeceased by his parents, Sigfried and Joan Higgins, his brother, Peter, and his beloved wife of 55 years, Arlene Higgins.
He is survived by his two loving children, Kisten Trzaska and her husband Michael, Richard Higgins and his wife Christine; his five treasured grandchildren; his siblings; and numerous friends and family.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
A prayer service will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday at 11:00 am followed by interment at 11:45 am, at Forest Green Cemetery located at 535 Texas Road Morganville, New Jersey 07751.
