Sigrid Patsch

Sigrid Patsch, of Mountainside passed away on August 21st at Spring Hills care center in Somerset, New Jersey. She was 86 years old. Sigrid was born and raised in Germany. While working as a pharmacist she met her husband and life partner Juergen.
Sigrid and Juergen would have three children in Germany before moving to the United States in 1975 where they raised their family. Mrs. Patsch and her family spent several years in Scotch Plains before moving to Mountainside, New Jersey.
Sigrid was self employed and started her own catering company in Plainfield. She worked as the head chef and ran the business until retiring in 1992. Upon her retirement, Mrs. Patsch dedicated her time to serving her community. She primarily volunteered her time to the St. Joseph's Service Center in Elizabeth. She coordinated the efforts of over 125 individuals who provided weekly meals and food for those in need. Sigrid also volunteered for local boys and girls scout troops by providing backpacks and school supplies. Sigrid had a green thumb and loved gardening, enjoyed cooking, but above all she loved spending time with her three grandchildren.
She is survived by her two children Ernst Patsch and wife Marsha, along with Ute Lowery and husband John. She is also survived by her three loving grandchildren Margaret, Emma, and Lilah.
