Obituary of Andreana "Andie" Marie Patsch
Andreana Marie (Andie) Paulding Patsch passed away December 17, 2023, following a 3-year courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Oklahoma City on October 19, 1970, she journeyed with her family to Thousand Oaks, CA in December 1983, and later to Sugar Land, TX in July 1986. I suspect she never truly forgave her mom for making her leave California!
Named in honor of a cherished family friend, Andreana Ewing, as well as her paternal grandmother and two great-grandmothers, she soon reinvented her identity as "Andie," a necessity as few could master the spelling or pronunciation of "Andreana."
As a child her presence was a delightful mix of enthusiasm and challenge: spirited, adventurous, quick-witted, precocious, tenacious, and fun-loving. She authored the book on being a strong-willed child!
In her adult life, Andie embodied warmth, compassion, and joy as a daughter, stepdaughter, sister, wife, mom, aunt, and particularly as a devoted, incredible friend. Those lucky enough to be in her family circle or earn her friendship were indeed blessed!
To her brother, John, and sister, Ryanne, Andie extended unwavering love and generosity, and she shone as a treasured aunt to her seven nieces and nephews. She wholeheartedly welcomed her stepmom, Lark, not just as a dear friend but as her second mom.
Andie excelled in athletics and emerged as a skilled fast-pitch softball pitcher. Following her graduation from Westbury Christian High School in 1988, she, and her dear friend Laura Rivers (serving as catcher), both secured scholarships to inaugurate the women's softball program at HBU. During that foundational year, Andie tirelessly pitched every single game!
In 1989, Andie and Moses Reiner united in marriage, and their son, Joshua Aaron Reiner, arrived in 1990. She navigated her early years as a young, industrious, and remarkable single mom with grace and strength. Andie and Josh developed an exceptionally close bond, consistently presenting themselves as a formidable and dynamic duo.
In 2004, while employed as a loan officer at Shell FCU, Andie joined the Montrose softball league. It was there, thanks to George's encouragement and Jim's recruitment, that she met Stephan Patsch. Their initial attraction, sparked during their involvement in sports, blossomed into a deeper connection, ultimately leading to their marriage in August 2008. Together, they were blessed with two daughters, Chloe Marie and Emily Ryanne, who, along with their big brother, Josh, and his fiancée, Jackie Parras, formed a close-knit and loving family.
Andie, much like her father, had a deep love for music and her passion for various genres mirrored her diverse and broad-minded spirit. Her collection ranged from the soothing voices of Lauren Daigle and Celine Dion to the energetic beats of Ozzy Osbourne, Big Daddy Kane, and Salt-N-Peppa. No judgement ever bloomed in her garden. Instead, she offered sunshine and understanding, growing a sanctuary where all could flourish.
Andie was also a skilled homemaker, an excellent cook, a talented interior decorator, an accomplished gardener, and a fashion icon! Her vibrant spirit was a beacon of love and beauty, drawing people towards her and enriching their lives. Andie had an uncanny ability to visualize and create beauty in her surroundings, often reassuring Stephan's skepticism with a confident "Babe, trust me." And of course, her vision consistently transformed their home and garden into spaces of beauty and perfection.
Her legacy endures in the petals of kindness she scattered, in the sturdy branches of her children's character, and in the vibrant memories that continue to paint the hearts of those she touched. Andie's fight against cancer was marked by incredible strength and a profound love for her family and friends. She was deeply grateful for their presence in her life and fought bravely, not wanting to leave too soon.
Andreana "Andie" Patsch, lovingly nicknamed "Patsches" by her best friend Jimmy, will be deeply missed. Her impact is beyond words, and she will forever be held close in the hearts of those she loved.
Stephan extends his heartfelt gratitude to Andie for her love, acceptance, and for profoundly changing his life. He, along with her family and friends, cherish the love they shared and look forward to the day they meet again! Until then, they carry her spirit with them, embracing the lessons and love she left behind.
Andie is preceded in death by her father David Bruce Paulding. She is survived by her mother Margaret Claver McBride; stepmother Lark Allison; loving husband Stephan Patsch; son Jashua Reiner and fiancé, Jackie; daughters Chloe Patsch, Emily Patsch; brother John D. Paulding and wife, Rachel; sister Ryanne Hamilton and husband, Ryan; mother-in-law Eva Patsch; father-in-law Wolfgang Patsch and wife, Selma; brothers-in-law Michael Patsch, Joseph Patsch and wife, Olivia; nieces and nephews Ben, Emma, Josiah, Noah, Caleb, Abigail, Gracie, Alli, Owen, and a host of many other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Andie will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Grand Parkway Baptist, 12000 FM 1464, Richmond, Texas, 77407, with Pastor Neil McClendon officiating.
